Under the coordinated guidance oftheuniversity’sleadership,in order to enhance teaching quality, actively promote the teaching reform of the Department of the Public Foreign Language, andsupport studentstoachievenew breakthroughs in further education examinations,theDepartment ofPublic Foreign Languageofthe International Education College (Foreign LanguagesCollege) held a launch ceremony for the public foreign language teaching reform on the afternoon of April 21.
At the launch ceremony, Si Haige, Director of the Department of Public Foreign Language, emphasized the need foraccuratestrategies at different learning stages. Freshmen will focus on foundational English teaching, orient toward the CET-4 and CET-6 exams, and solidify their language skills. Sophomores will focus on the need of vocational education and further study exams, and deepen content and methodology innovations. The department will establish a core discussion group to reorganize curriculum resources and develop specialized teaching materials based on different majors, reflecting the "English plus Major" teachingidea. For further study exams , the teaching plan will be optimized modularly, and a systematic resource database will be established. Teachers will collaborate to ensure the steady progress of the reform.
The Department of Public Foreign Language teaching will show its professional strengths to play a key role in supporting students preparing for the CET-4 and CET-6 exams and further study exams.Throughspecificteaching and tutoring, students will enhance their professional competencies and have a smoother pathway to pursue further education. This reform represents an active exploration within the university under the background of vocational education. In the future, the department will continue to deepen reforms, optimize talents development pathways, and provide solid support for students' diversified development.
