International Education (Foreign Languages) College Successfully Concluded Its First Japanese Dubbing Contest

On April 27, 2025, International Education(Foreign Languages)College successfully held its inaugural Japanese Dubbing Contest in Room 205, Building 15. All students from the Class of 2024 in the Applied Japanese program participated in the competition, with faculty members from the Japanese Teaching and Research Section serving as judges.

The contest showcased participants’ linguistic skills and cross-cultural understanding through the vocal interpretation of classic Japanese film, anime clips, and original skits. Contestants delivered vivid portrayals of characters from renowned works such as Spirited Away, Violet Evergarden, and Your Name, demonstrating preciseJapanese pronunciation, strong emotional expressiveness, and proficient teamwork. After careful deliberation and voting by the judging panel, various awards were ultimately presented.

This event not only assessed students’ practical language application abilities but also highlighted the Applied Japanese program’s teaching philosophy of “Japanese language proficiency plus practical skills.” Students unanimously expressed that the contest significantly enriched their campus life and further motivated their professional studies. Moving forward, the college plans to regularly organize such specialized activities to cultivate students into well-rounded talents characterized by “proficiency in the language, familiarity with the culture, and strong practical skills.”
