On June 30th, the Center for the Russian Language Proficiency Test for Foreigners was inaugurated at Kaifeng University. A delegation of five people from the Tula State Pedagogical University of Russia, including Maxim Deviatkin, assistant to the president and the Russian chairperson, and Lydia Viktorovna, the dean of the Physical Education College, attended the unveiling ceremony. President Wang Deru and Maxim jointly unveiled the plaque for the "Center for the Russian Language Proficiency Test for Foreigners".
At the unveiling ceremony, Wang Deru said that to serve the "Belt and Road" initiative, enhance cultural and educational exchanges between China and Russia, and promote international educational cooperation, Tula State Pedagogical University of Russia and Kaifeng University have jointly established a Russian Language Proficiency Test Center to jointly advance the educational cooperation between the two universities to a new level. Maxim said that the Tula university side is willing to work together with Kaifeng University to build the test center into a demonstration platform for educational cooperation between China and Russia and a new fulcrum connecting the languages and cultures of Europe and Asia.
The Test of Russian as a Foreign Language (TORFL, in Russian: ТРКИ) is a standardized language proficiency test for non-native speakers authorized and recognized by the Russian Ministry of Education.
After the talks, the two sides also reached agreements on strengthening exchanges and mutual visits of teachers and students, Chinese language learning, 2+2 Sino-foreign cooperative education programs, cooperation on scientific research projects, and further education for teachers.
To serve the major national strategies and regional economic development, Kaifeng University will continuously deepen and expand the breadth and depth of international exchanges, promote the sharing and complementarity of educational resources, inject continuous impetus and vitality into the educational undertakings of China and Russia, and build a broader and more advanced platform for cultivating compound talents with an international perspective.
