International Education (Foreign Languages) College Successfully Hosts Primary School English Teaching Skills Competition

On the afternoon of June 19, 2025, the grand final of the Primary School English Teaching Skills Competition, organized by the International Education (Foreign Languages) College, was successfully held in the lecture hall of Building No. 5. The event was graced by the presence of Dean Jiang Dashan, Deputy Secretary of the Party General Branch Qin Xinfeng, and Associate Dean Huang Yiqin. Additionally, all faculty members from the Applied English major took on the esteemed role of judges.

This competition stands as a distinctive practical training initiative within the "Comprehensive Practical Training of Teacher Skills" course for the 2023 cohort of the Applied English major. Initially, class-level preliminary contests were conducted to identify the most promising participants. Following a rigorous selection process, 13 outstanding contestants earned their places in the final.

Throughout the competition, the contestants showcased their meticulous planning in designing teaching activities. Each segment of their lessons, from the engaging course introductions to the in-depth knowledge explanations, interactive sessions, and comprehensive class summaries, was seamlessly interconnected and presented with impeccable logic. Some contestants ingeniously captured the students' attention and introduced the course themes by performing captivating English songs. Others opted to initiate their classes with thought-provoking, suspenseful questions, effectively stimulating the students' curiosity and eagerness to explore.

In terms of classroom performance, the contestants exuded a vibrant and engaging aura. Their teaching demeanors were natural, confident, and professional. Their pronunciation and intonation were not only standard but also remarkably fluent, demonstrating their exceptional English language proficiency and teaching competence.

After an intense and closely contested competition, two outstanding students, Zhang Mengyao and Tang Feiyan, emerged as the winners of the first prize in the final. Their victory was a testament to their exceptional teaching design, remarkable classroom delivery, and innovative creation of teaching aids.

The successful hosting of this Primary School English Teaching Skills Competition serves as a comprehensive assessment of the interim learning achievements of the 2023 cohort of the Applied English major. More importantly, it represents a vivid and effective implementation of the college's teaching philosophy of "promoting teaching excellence and enhancing student learning through competitions."

Looking ahead, International Education (Foreign Languages) Collegewill continue to leverage high-quality competitions as a pivotal driving force.
