​​​Professor Jixin Ma from the University of Greenwich, UK, Visited Kaifeng University and Delivered a Lecture

On the morning of December 18, the 28th lecture of the "KFUForum" series was successfully held in the First Conference Hall of the Administration Building. Dr. Jixin Ma, a full-timeprofessor at the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences, University of Greenwich, UK, was invited to deliver a special lecturetitled"Temporal Representation in Artificial Intelligence and Big Data."Wang Deru,president of Kaifeng University, Xie Wenzhong,member of the University Party Committee and Secretary of the Party Committee of the School ofMedicine, and Shi Chaoting,member of the University Party Committee and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, attended the event.

The lecture was hosted by Vice President Zeng Xiaoping. All middle-levelleaders and over 170teachers and students participated in the session.

Professor Jixin Ma previously served as the Director of the Centre for Computer and Computational Sciences at the University of Greenwich, UK, as well as the Director ofDoctoral/Master of Philosophy Programsat this university.His primary research areas include data science, artificial intelligenceand information systems, with particular expertise in temporal logic, temporal databases, pattern recognition, graph matching, and information security.

In his lecture, Professor Jixin Ma not only shared insights into the crucial topic of time in artificial intelligence and big data science but also outlined some fundamental issues in temporal ontology. Through examples, he provided a brief introduction to temporal representation and reasoning in artificial intelligence and big data.

With his profound knowledge and unique perspectives, he unveiled the mysteries of temporal representation in artificial intelligence and big data for the attendingteachersand students. The lecture was rich in content, clear and accessible, leaving the audience deeply inspired and enriched.

The lecture was organized by the International Education (Foreign Languages)College.
