The 5th "English Reader" Contest of the School of International Education was held in the evening of December 3, 2020, in the lecture hall of Building No. 5 at Kaifeng University. Representatives from the University of Canberra's China Office, Ms. Lu, the leadership team of the School of International Education, and teacher representatives attended the event.

This edition of the "English Reader" contest involved 37 students from the 2019 and 2020 cohorts. The competition was divided into three groups, with each participant preparing an English poem and an English translation of a Chinese Tang poem, accompanied by a presentation PPT and background music. Throughout the competition, the contestants delivered with standard pronunciation and full emotion, sincerely interpreting the classic poems and fully displaying their hard work and youthful charm. After voting by the judges, three first prizes, eight second prizes, and fifteen third prizes were awarded.

Through this activity, the students demonstrated their enthusiasm for learning English, deeply appreciated the charm of English poetry, gained confidence, experienced growth, and continued to stride forward on the path of learning with pride and determination.
