In order to adapt to the new situation and new requirements faced by the development of vocational education, on the afternoon of April 21, 2022, the School of International Education organized all teachers to study the new version of the vocational education law in the conference room of the school.
The 34th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People's Congress voted and passed the newly revised vocational education law on April 20. This is the first revision of the vocational education law in nearly 26 years since its formulation. The new vocational education law will come into effect on May 1, 2022. The new vocational education law makes it clear that vocational education is an educational type with the same important status as general education. In order to promote the integration of vocational education and general education and the connection of vocational education at different levels, open up "dead-end roads" and build "overpasses", the new vocational education law makes it clear that higher vocational school education is implemented by higher vocational schools and ordinary colleges and universities at the educational levels of junior college, undergraduate and above; it is made clear that the state will establish and improve the certification, accumulation and conversion mechanism of credits, qualifications and other learning achievements of school education and vocational training at all levels and of all kinds, promote the construction of the national credit bank for vocational education, and promote the integration and mutual recognition of learning achievements of vocational education and general education. After learning, the teachers also had a heated discussion on their understanding of the new vocational education law in combination with professional and curriculum construction.
Through this collective learning, the teachers have a deeper understanding of vocational education, and realize that the new vocational education law is of great significance in promoting the high-quality development of vocational education, improving the quality and technical skills of workers, and promoting employment and entrepreneurship. At the same time, they are more determined to continue to help the school's "double high" construction and improve the school-running level.
