In order to improve the public English teaching level and promote the innovation of English vocabulary learning and testing methods, the second " SFLEP-VocabGo Cup " Online English Vocabulary Contest hosted by the Foreign Language College of Kaifeng University was successfully held at 7 PM on April 18th.

Before the competition, the teacher carefully tutored the students and organized the students to participate in the simulation test. The purpose was to make the students familiar with the test interface, operation process, questiontypes, and time control, so as to make full preparations for the formal competition. The competition includes college English related vocabulary and course ideological and political related vocabulary, a total of 160 questions, 60 minutes. Students must use their mobile phones to complete the answers to the competition questions through the platform within the specified time, and the system will automatically calculate the results.695 students from 14 departments participated in this intense competition, and the completion rate of the competition reached 97.02%. According to the rules, the top 5% of students in the school competition will be selected for the provincial finals. The winner will participate in the national competition on behalf of Henan Province.

This competition follows the vocabulary learning concept of "practicing promoting learning", instead of rote memorization, by repeatedly practicing the meaning and collocation of words in different contexts, to help students master vocabulary learning, enhance students' interest in English learning, and achieve the improvement of comprehensive English application ability. Public English teaching will take this online vocabulary contest as an opportunity to focus on digitalization, networking and intelligent reform, explore the path of foreign language teaching reform, and help train high-quality technical talents.
