International Education College (College of Foreign Languages) Held the 6th English Drama Contest

On the afternoon of June 18th, International EducationCollege(College of Foreign Languages) successfully held the 6th English Drama Contest in the lecture hall on the first floor of Building 5. Lu Xiaoning and Shen Yueting, Chinese representatives of the University of Canberra, Wang Yanling, school supervisor, Cheng Xin,secretary of thegeneralbranch of the International EducationCollege(Collegeof Foreign Languages), Jiang Dashan, dean of the college, and deputy leadersQin Xinfeng and Huang Yiqin, attended the contest. Foreign teachers Roopa, Wang Shuai and some teachers of thecollege served as judges.

The English Drama Contest is attended by all the students of grade 2023, which is divided into preliminary and final contests and lasts for three months. At the beginning of this semester, each classcompleted grouping, script writing, rehearsal, etc., and the teacherteaching the course of "English Listening and Speaking" guided each group. A total of 9 groups of contestants stood out and entered the final.

After careful preparation, the contestants pronounced accurately on the final stage, their performance was in place, and the props and background music were rich and interesting. The scene had repeated climax and continuous applause. The judges scored the contestants according to their English pronunciation, script writing, acting skills and stage design. In the end, the two drama groups of "New Waiting for the Hare" and "Journey to the West" won the title, and Hao Yifei and Meng Yibo from the two groups won the best performance award. Foreign teacher Roopa made a wonderful comment on the performance of each group of contestants.

The English Drama Contest has become one of the brand activities of the college, aiming to enhance the English learning atmosphere, improve students 'interest in learning, enrich students' campus life, and lay a foundation for future study, reflecting the characteristics of "foreign language + major" of the college.
