On November 22, the International Education College hosted its third “English Reader” Contest in the first-floor auditorium. The event was attended by Wang Yujie, the college’s party branch secretary, and all faculty members.

This year’s contest featured 45 students from the 2017 and 2018 classes. Each participant recited an English poem chosen from a specified selection. Judges evaluated performances based on pronunciation, intonation, fluency, and technical aspects such as the use of PPT and background music. The contestants delivered their readings with passion and clarity, demonstrating their talents. After a spirited competition, five first prizes, ten second prizes, and fifteen third prizes were awarded.

The “English Reader” Contest has been an annual event for three years and has become a hallmark activity of the International Education College. The contest highlights the college’s unique focus on combining professional and foreign language education, enhances students’ enthusiasm for learning English, and improves their oral English skills. This helps to prepare them for studying abroad in their third semesterand future academic pursuits overseas.
