On the afternoon of September 12, 2024, the China-Australia Teacher-Student Symposium was held in the conference room on the second floor oftheInternational Education (Foreign Languages) College. The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Zhao Liqiang, the representative of the University of Canberra in China, Mr. Emir, the Vice President of theInternational Education (Foreign Languages) College, Mr. Huang Yiqin, as well as faculty and student representatives.
The symposium began with Mr. Emir, the foreign teacher, sharing his enriching experiences of teaching in China. His narrative was filled with fascinating anecdotes that highlighted the unique journey of cross-cultural education. This was followed by a speech from the faculty representative, who engaged in a profound dialogue with Mr. Emir on various aspects of teaching methodologies, classroom dynamics, and cultural differences. Following the symposium, Mr. Emir and representatives from the University of Canberra visited the professional education sites for freshmen in e-commerce, big data, and accounting majors. They delivered detailed presentations on the strengths of the University of Canberra, language learning strategies, and cultural nuances. This session was particularly beneficial for the 2024 cohort of students, who gained a preliminary yet comprehensive understanding of the China-Australia cooperative education program.
