First Japanese Reading Competition of the International Education (Foreign Languages) College Concluded Successfully

On December 12,theInternational Education(Foreign Languages)Collegesuccessfully held the first Japanese Reading Competition in Room 104 of Building 15. Jiang Dashan,deanoftheInternational Education(Foreign Languages)Collegeattended the event, and all faculty members of the Japanese Teaching and Research Office served as judges.More than 40 students participated in the competition, including studentsmajoring in Applied Japanese from the class of 2024, students majoring in Applied English from the class of 2023,and those taking Japanese as an elective course.

The contestants delivered their readings with clear pronunciation, expressive emotions, and fluent articulation, vividly bringing each Japanese passage to life. The audience responded with enthusiastic applausethroughout the event.After two hours of intense competition, the event concluded with four first-prize winners, eight second-prize winners, and twelve third-prize winners. This Japanese Reading Competition not only provided students with a platform to showcase their skills but also sparked their interest and enthusiasm for learning Japanese. Additionally, it contributed to improving their spoken Japanese proficiency and successfully achieved the goal of "learning through competition”.
