In order to improve the practical English level of our students and enrich their extracurricular cultural life, the International Education College held the 4th English Drama Competition on the afternoon of May 8th.

This year's drama competition was open to all students of grade2021. The competition consisted of two parts, preliminaries and finals. The preliminaries were held among the six English classes ingrade2021, with each class divided into several groups, each with 5-8 members. Within two weeks after the start of the semester, the groups determined their group composition and selected the play script. They completed the class selection by the 8th week and each class selected the best group to enter the finals. The English listening and speaking teachers provided guidance and practice every week. According to the requirements of epidemic prevention and control, the finals were held in the form of video recording. The six groups that entered the finals recorded theirwell-rehearsed plays into videos and uploaded them to the teachers' DingTalk group of the college, where the teachers conducted online evaluation. The competition will award the first prize to 1 group, the second prize to 2 groups, and the third prize to 3 groups.

The students in the drama groups were well-prepared, spoke clearly and fluently, performed vividly and actively,andpaid attention to team cooperation. They also meticulously made costumes andprops, and selected suitable background music and slides. They fully demonstrated the students' positive mental outlook and created a good English learning atmosphere among their peers, reflecting the college's teaching philosophy of "promoting learning through competitions" and "teaching through lively activities".
