Site news In order to study and implement the spirit of the National Conference on Vocational Education and the Opinions on Promoting the High-Quality Development of Modern Higher Vocational Education, School of Foreign Languages invited WanShiming, a member of the Party Committee and Vice President of the University, to make a special report on the topic ofPromoting the High-Quality Development of Modern Higher Vocational Education for all thefaculty andstaff of the School of Foreign Languages in the afternoon of Oct. 28th.

President Wan’s report mainly focuses on the following five aspects of “Strengthening the characteristics of vocational education types”,“Improving the system of running schools through the integration of production and education”,“Innovating the mechanism of school-enterprise cooperation in running schools”,“Deepening the reform of education and teaching” and“Building a brand of vocational education with Chinese characteristics”, etc. President Wan emphasized that we should be guided by Xi Jinping’s thoughts of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, adhere to the principle of cultivating people with moral character，cultivatingstudents’ both moral and technical skills,market-oriented,strengthening students’ abilitytopromote employment, teaching for everyone and teaching according to the material, and promote the high-quality development of vocational education.

He hoped that the teachers would clarify the positioning of vocational education, update their educational concepts, deepen the reform of parenting mode, build a new type of teacher-student relationship, and improve the quality of education and teaching in an all-round way.

All thefaculty andstaff of the School of Foreign Languages were encouraged by President Wan’s report, and they expressed that they should enhance the awareness of reform and innovation, keep pace with the reform of higher vocational education, further optimize the construction of specialties and curricula, innovate the teaching mode and methodology, improve the teaching content and teaching materials, strengthen the construction of teachers' teaching innovation team, promote the pilot construction of the 1+X certificate, deepen the integration of industry and education and school-enterprise cooperation, and strive to make greater contributionsfor the level improvement oftheuniversity.
