On December 15, "the 6th Henan Vocational College Skills Competition and the 2013 National Vocational College Oral English Competition in Henan Province" hosted by the Provincial Department of Education was successfully held in our school. A total of 72 players (including English majors and non-English majors) from nearly 40 universities across the province participated in the competition. The judges of the competition are Zhang Keding, Guo Aixian, Qiu Tianhe, Niu Baoyi, and foreign teachers James and Roopa from our province.

At the opening ceremony of the competition, Wan Pengjie, member of the Foreign Language Teaching Committee of Colleges and Universities in Henan Province and president of the English Branch of Junior College, thanked the leadership and relevant departments of our school for their help and support on behalf of the organizing committee of the competition, and hoped that all higher vocational colleges and universities would take this competition as an opportunity to further improve students' practical application ability and comprehensive quality of English. Make our province junior college English teaching overall level to a higher level. President Bai May 4th, Vice President Zhao Hui and Vice President Geng Guangli attended the opening ceremony of the competition. On behalf of Kaifeng University, President Bai extended a warm welcome to all the experts and teachers and students from other universities, and wished the competition a complete success.

After four hours of fierce competition, Zhang Ying from Xuchang Vocational and Technical College and Zhou Xinge from Henan Economic and Trade Vocational School respectively won the first place in the English major group and the non-English major group. They will represent Henan province to participate in theNational Finals of the National Vocational Skills Competition of Spoken English.
