On the afternoon of November 22,The Conference on the Expert Guidance Committee for Standardizing Foreign Language Signage in Public Service Sector in Kaifeng City was held at Kaifeng University .Li Zhi, Vice President of Kaifeng University attended the conference, along with Han Shengliang, Deputy Director of Foreign Affairs Office of the CPC Kaifeng Municipal Committee, Wang Aiqin, Dean of International Education School of Yellow River Conservancy Technical Institute, Wang Min, Director of Foreign Languages Department of Kaifeng Culture and Art Vocational College, Hou Jian, Director of Translation Department of Foreign Languages School of Henan University, Wei Kai, Director of International Exchange Department of the CPC Kaifeng Municipal Committee Foreign Affairs Office, and Lin Qionglei, a staff member of the Section, Zhang Tao, Director of the Foreign Cooperation and Exchange Office of our University, and Zhang Jiuming, dean of the School of Foreign Languages, attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Dean Zhang Jiuming.

Vice President Li Zhi firstly welcomed the arrival of experts on behalf of Kaifeng University, and congratulated the successful holding of the Expert Steering Committee for the construction of foreign language signs in the field of public service in Kaifeng City. President Li introduced the development of the school to the experts, and said that as a local university in Kaifeng, the school will insist on basing on Kaifeng, serving the local area, facing modernization, and taking the initiative to serve the local economy precisely.Teachers and students of our school actively participate in the foreign economic and cultural exchanges of Kaifeng City, and as Kaida people, they have the responsibility to actively participate in the construction ofthe norms offoreign language signs in the field of public services in Kaifeng City.

Director Han of the Foreign Affairs Office conveyed the requirements of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Provincial Party Committee on the standardized construction of foreign language signs in the field of public services in the province, and put forward the work plan and time node requirements of Kaifeng City，saying that it is an important part of promoting the construction of a good international language environment, upgrading the level of internationalization, building an international cultural tourism city, and promoting all-roundandhigh-level opening up to the outside world. In order to facilitate the coordination and linkage of the whole city, actively and steadily promote the construction of foreign language signs in the field of public services in our city. According to the unified deployment, the construction of foreign language signs in the city is led by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Municipal Party Committee, and the leading group for the construction of foreign language signs in the field of public services in Kaifeng has been established, with members from Henan University, Kaifeng University, Yellow River Conservancy Vocational and Technical College, Kaifeng Vocational College of Culture and Art and other relevant departments. It is hoped that members of each group will attach great importance to this work, have the courage to take the responsibility, take the initiative, and solidly promote the construction of foreign language signs in thelocalregion and in therespectivefields.

Finally, ZhangJiuming, dean of the School of Foreign Languages, spoke on behalf of the committee members that this activity provided a rare learning opportunity for all teachers and students, and built an important platform for interaction and communication. Teachers and students of theuniversity will take this opportunity to carry out a thorough investigation, form a research report and find outthekey problems, and actively promote the construction of foreign language signs standardization in the field of public services.
