On the afternoon of November 29,2024, the class 1 of Modern Logistics Management major of 2024 grade in International Education (Foreign Languages) College held a characteristic class debate competition in Room 213, Building 15. Students engaged in a heated debate on the topic of "buying a house or not buying a house is happier". The affirmative side argued that buying a house is happier, while the negative side argued that not buying a house is happier. There were four affirmative debaters, four negative debaters, two timekeepers on each side, one host, and 34 other students serving as judges.
During the event, both sides 'debaters fully demonstrated their debating skills, citing classics, with tight logic and sharp language, earning rounds of applause from the audience. In the end, after voting by the instructor and all students, the affirmative side's debater won. Yu Hang, the first speaker of the affirmative team, was awarded the title of "Best Debater," while Yuan Chengjun, the second speaker of the negative team, received the title of "Best Stage Debater."
This debate provides a platform for students to show themselves and exercise their abilities, and cultivates students' critical thinking ability, logical reasoning ability, language expression ability, adaptability and team cooperation ability. It guides students to learn to extract economic perspectives from social hot issues and think about the deep factors behind hot phenomena.
